GMES is one of the pillars of the European Space Policy that aims at placing Europe in the forefront of research and development worldwide. After the enlargement of the European Union, it is an obvious step to merge substantial GMES capacity of the new members with existing structures that have already been functioning in the Union. The role of the GMES Information Centre, as we see it, to stimulate this process through exchange of information, promotion of the GMES initiatives, and through establishing contacts between potential partners.

·      support for participation of Polish institutions in GMES thematic projects and introduction of institutions from other candidate countries into these projects

·      support for growth of user segment of GMES-related projects
